Location Information Terms

1. Purpose

These Location Information Terms govern the collection, use, and disclosure of your location data in connection with the location-based features provided by the App. By enabling location services for the App, you consent to the practices described in these Terms.

2. Definitions

1. "Location Data" means information about the geographic position of your device at a particular time, derived from GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular network, or other positioning technologies.
2. "Precise Location" means location information with a high degree of accuracy, typically within a few meters of your actual position.
3. "Location-Based Services" means features of the App that utilize your Location Data to provide functionality.

3. Location-Based Services We Provide

The App offers the following Location-Based Services:

1. Current Location Display: Displaying your current position on the map interface to help you orient yourself and explore nearby areas.
2. Trip Location Recording: Saving geographic coordinates of places in your trip itineraries to create a comprehensive travel record.
3. Route Visualization: Calculating and displaying travel routes between locations in your trip schedule on the map.
4. Nearby Place Search: Searching for points of interest, restaurants, attractions, and other locations near your current position.

4. How We Collect Location Data

1. We collect Location Data through your device's built-in positioning capabilities, including GPS (Global Positioning System), Wi-Fi network triangulation, and cellular network positioning.
2. Location Data is collected only when you have explicitly granted location access permission to the App through your device's operating system settings.
3. The App collects Location Data only while in the foreground (while you are actively using the App). We do not perform background location tracking.
4. You will be prompted to grant location permission the first time you attempt to use a feature that requires location access. You may choose to deny this permission, though certain features may not function as intended.

1. We do not sell your Location Data to any third party.
2. We do not share your precise Location Data with third parties without your consent, except as necessary to provide the Service through our data processors (see our Privacy Policy, Section 5).
3. When you choose to share trip itineraries with other Users through the App's sharing features, the geographic coordinates of places included in those itineraries may be visible to the Users with whom you share.
4. Your current location is never shared with other Users. Only place coordinates that you explicitly add to shared trip itineraries are disclosed.

7. Your Rights Regarding Location Data

1. Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent to Location Data collection at any time by disabling location permissions for the App in your device settings.
   • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Pinny > Never
   • Android: Settings > Apps > Pinny > Permissions > Location > Deny
2. Right to Access: You may request information about the Location Data we have collected and how it has been used by contacting us at the email address below.
3. Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your stored Location Data. Location Data associated with trip itineraries will be deleted when you delete the associated trips or your Account.
4. Granular Control: Your device's operating system provides granular controls over location permissions. You can choose to grant location access "While Using the App" only, or deny it entirely.
5. No Background Tracking: We do not request "Always" location permission. The App only accesses your location when you are actively using it.

8. Children's Location Data

We do not knowingly collect Location Data from children under the age of 13, in compliance with COPPA. If we discover that we have collected Location Data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete such data.

9. Data Security for Location Information

1. Location Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
2. Stored Location Data (trip place coordinates) is encrypted at rest in our database.
3. Access to Location Data is restricted through role-based access controls.

11. Dispute Resolution

1. Any disputes relating to these Location Information Terms shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution procedures set forth in our Terms of Service, including binding arbitration governed by the laws of the State of California.
2. You may also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or your state's attorney general regarding any concerns about our location data practices.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Location Information Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated terms within the App and providing at least seven (7) days' notice before the changes take effect.
